Ferocactus Recurvus – Characteristics

The ferocactus recurvus, often confused with the Ferocactus latispinus, is a small globose cactus belonging to the order Caryophyllales. It has a solitary habit and a bluish-green stem, enriched by well-defined tuberculate ribs from which numerous white downy areoles emerge. The thorns that adorn this plant are robust and whitish in color tending towards red. Its flowers are bell-shaped and intense pink-magenta in color and bloom on the apical part of the plant.
