Tephrocactus Geometricus - Characteristics
The Tephrocactus Geometricus is a particular cactus native to Catamarca, Argentina. It also belongs to the subfamily of Opuntioideae and has a bluish-green, ball-shaped stem. With prolonged exposure to the sun it can also take on a very distinctive purplish colour. Over time it will form spherical branches. Short, downward curved thorns protrude from its areoles. During the flowering period, beautiful white to light pink flowers with a dark central stripe will form. The plant must be handled with great care and attention as its parts tend to fall off very easily. Great care must be taken when transferring the plant, or when moving it.
