Opuntia Santa Rita

Opuntia Santa Rita is a cactus succulent plant, which is especially popular in the states of New Mexico, Texas and Arizona, and is very popular because of its distinctive purple colouring. The plant is in fact a close relative of the classic Prickly pear, widespread in Mediterranean landscapes, and takes on this particular colouring due to prolonged exposure to sunlight. Under optimal conditions it can grow up to 230-240 centimetres.
