Notocactus Succineus - Characteristics
The Notocactus Succineus is a small perennial cactus native to Brazil, also known as Parody broom subs. succinea. The name Parody was attributed by the Italian botanist and creator of this genus C. Spiegazzini, who dedicated the plant to his employer, Argentinian pharmacist Domingo Parodi. Its globose stem can grow upright and even become columnar, branching at the base towards adulthood. It has numerous vertical, spiral ribs with white, downy areoles from which short, yellowish spines emerge. Flowering occurs in the summer, producing large yellow flowers at the apex of the plant.
