Mammillaria Candida - Characteristics

La Mammillaria Candida is a small cactus native to Mexico that belongs to a genre consisting of around 185 species. It has a globular body that tends to elongate with adulthood. Its stem is light green in colour and is adorned with a few cylindrical tubercles. The plant is completely covered with tiny pure white spines that may turn pink at the tip. It is often called the 'snowball' because of its snow-white appearance and its geometry.
