Astrophytum capricorne aureum - Characteristics

Astrophytum capricorne aureum is a succulent plant belonging to the subfamily of the cactoideae with a globular shape that becomes columnar with time and can even reach 40 cm in height. Its stem is dark green in colour and also has purple tones in the more mature specimens. It has ribs marked by thin margins with yellowish downy areoles on which grow its long, twisted, brownish-grey spines. The flowers of this cactus are large and bright yellow with a red centre.
