Huernia – Online Sale
The name “Huernia” was attributed to these particular plants in honour of Justus van Heurne, the Dutch missionary who first became interested in these plants. Although they look similar to cacti, these plants are actually succulents that have converted their leaves into thorns to adapt to arid environments.
They have very slender stems divided by four vertical ribs. They do not reach considerable heights, but rather tend to wallpaper large horizontal spaces. They do not need particular attention but, if you know how to take care of them, they will repay you with flowers with a truly unique appearance: from the starry shape, the petals are joined together, often by a sort of fleshy and shiny disc, and take on really shades. details, with very lively and extravagant streaks!
