Echinocactus – Online Sale

Echinocactus” is a word that derives from Latin and means “curly cactus”, with reference to its appearance characterized by a strong presence of thorns. It is a genus of which few species belong but which is at the same time very representative in the Cactaceae family.

They have a generally globular shape but which in some cases can also be columnar with growth. Despite the very slow growth, they can reach quite large sizes. This genus is also known by the nickname “mother-in-law’s pillow” or “golden ball” thanks to its ball appearance and its yellowish spines.

The blooms begin to appear after about ten years of life and are usually abundant and showy.
