Echinocactus Grusonii Brevispina – Characteristics
The Echinocactus Grusonii Brevispina is also commonly called “mother-in-law’s pillow”, belongs to the Echinocactus genus, and it is a globular Cactaceae with slow growth and a solitary posture, which can be tagged over time. Its shaft is light green in colour, slightly concave at the apex where, over time, a thick white fluff similar to a pillow forms. It has many well-furrowed ribs, equipped with numerous fluffy areoles of white-yellowish colour. It differs from E. grusonii for its very short yellowish spines. Flowering occurs in spring-summer only on large specimens.
